Day 1:

Meet up at Dukwi gate and proceed along the fence to Kukonje Island. BEWARE of fence in dust (you don’t want to look like a washing line). It is a 50km ride to Kukonje Island. Exploring on Island especially Baobab’s plant birds, so no racing on Island and please stick to beaten tracks. Resident Brown Hyena’s and secretary birds as well as resting vultures. Kalahari Springbuck, Blue Wildebeest, Gemsbuck and Hartebees will view you if you are quiet. Walking the Island is suggested for maximum adventure with sunset and moonrise from the top of the Island is a high light of the trip…..

Day 2:
Get up early for sunrise and a desert Island breakfast, whilst bikes are inspected and geared for pan trip. This will entail riding a route which will have you, thinking about far away planets…. Sorry, no racing yet, and please stay on beaten track, for the pristine beauty of the pan is to be respected. Designated areas for “Wild uitskop” riding will be shown to you by your guide. WARNING. The pan is a dangerous place. Arrive at Mosu for a braai amongst the palm trees. Rest and explore Mosu fountains. Then a short trip to the top of the hills for breathtaking view of pans, then down to camp at Mosu and recapping days adventure around a camp fire.

Day 3:
After a leisurely breakfast back onto the pan en-route to Kubu Island ( the lost city ) Flamingos will be your guests with beautiful grass savannah on the pan. Be careful of wet patches into which you and your bike might disappear, Adventure or what….? Arrive at Kubu Island for lunch after which can be explored on foot. This is a place of spiritual importance to local people. Then on to Kite camp after which we will commence out onto pan for a pan sleep out safari. This will be the time for wind sport activities including Kite bugging land yachting and acrobatic Kite flying.

Day 4:
Kiting in the morning and after breakfast on the bikes thru Ntwetwe pan, brunch, and heading for Gweta. We will set camp at Planet Baobab, relax, and have a few beers at the pub to get the guts for the last days ride….

Day 5:
You get to sleep in a bit late, to be awake for the last leg… Be awake on this 120km sandy bush track as various game including herds of Elephant and aardvark holes might surprise you. Camp Elephant Sands.

Day 6:
Spend the whole day at Elephant sands resting and recovering from injuries. Don’t worry, the young nurse on duty will look after you….
